Exocannibalism is the practice of consuming the flesh of individuals who are outside of one's own social group, community, or tribe, such as defeated enemies. Often associated with warfare, it is historically interpreted as a means to humiliate and dominate a vanquished foe or to absorb their strength and desirable qualities. This practice stands in contrast to endocannibalism, which involves eating members of one's own community.
