Exit, Voice, and Loyalty model
Topic
The Exit, Voice, and Loyalty (EVL) model is a political and organizational framework used to analyze how individuals respond to negative changes in their environment, such as declining quality in a firm, organization, or state. Originating from Albert O. Hirschman's influential 1970 book, the model outlines three primary responses: exiting the relationship, voicing dissatisfaction to advocate for change, or remaining loyal in hopes of improvement. It is widely applied in comparative politics, economics, and organizational behavior to model strategic interactions.
