Emmanuel Movement

The Emmanuel Movement was a psychologically based religious-healing initiative launched in 1906 as an outreach of Emmanuel Church in Boston, Massachusetts. Led by Episcopal priests Elwood Worcester and Samuel McComb, it operated a clinic offering medical, psychological, and group-therapy services, and influenced later approaches to psychotherapy and addiction recovery.
