Emma Green was a Victorian widow and resident of New Cottage in Buck's Row, Whitechapel, during the Jack the Ripper murders of 1888. Her bedroom was located almost directly above the spot where the body of Mary Ann "Polly" Nichols was discovered, and she became a notable witness at the subsequent inquest, testifying that she heard no struggle during the night.
