The Constitutio Antoniniana, also known as the Edict of Caracalla, was an imperial edict issued in AD 212 by the Roman Emperor Caracalla. It declared that all free men throughout the Roman Empire were to be granted full Roman citizenship, and all free women were to receive the same rights as Roman women.
