Wingsuit flying is an extreme sport where a pilot glides through the air using a specialized jumpsuit with webbed sleeves and legs to generate lift. Developed in the late 1990s, the suit mimics an airfoil to significantly extend flight time and distance before deploying a parachute for a safe landing. It is practiced as a discipline of both skydiving and BASE jumping.
