Eating speed
Topic
Eating speed, also referred to as eating rate, is a dietary behavior that measures how quickly an individual consumes food. Clinical research has strongly linked a fast eating speed with an increased risk of obesity, higher body mass index (BMI), and metabolic syndrome, as eating too quickly can delay the physiological signals of satiety. Consequently, interventions aimed at reducing eating speed are frequently studied as effective strategies for weight management and metabolic health.
