Place

Easter Island, also known as Rapa Nui, is a remote volcanic island and special territory of Chile located in the southeastern Pacific Ocean. It is world-famous for its nearly 1,000 monumental stone statues, called moai, which were carved by the early Rapa Nui people. Much of the island is protected within the Rapa Nui National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
