Dwarfism is a condition in humans and animals characterized by unusually short stature or small size, typically defined in adult humans as a height of 147 centimeters (4 feet 10 inches) or less. It is generally classified as either disproportionate, where limbs or torso are short relative to the rest of the body, or proportionate, where all parts of the body are unusually small. The condition can result from various medical, genetic, or hormonal factors, with achondroplasia being the most common cause.
