Thylacine
Topic
The thylacine is an extinct species of carnivorous marsupial that was native to the Australian mainland and the islands of Tasmania and New Guinea. Commonly known as the Tasmanian tiger or Tasmanian wolf due to its striped lower back, it was the largest known carnivorous marsupial of modern times. The species became extinct in the 20th century, with the last known live specimen dying at Hobart Zoo in 1936.
