The Great Peacemaker was the legendary founder of the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois Confederacy), a political and cultural union of several Native American tribes. Along with Hiawatha and Jigonhsasee, he is credited with establishing the Great Law of Peace, which ended centuries of warfare among the Five Nations.
