The Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) is a United States Department of Defense organization established to help the U.S. military rapidly adopt and integrate emerging commercial technologies. Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Silicon Valley, it connects commercial technology companies with military challenges to accelerate national security innovation.
