Deception is the act of convincing one or more recipients of untrue information, where the person creating the deception knows it to be false while the receiver does not. It is a deliberate attempt to mislead, often employed to gain a personal advantage, protect oneself, or influence the behavior of others. Deception can take many forms, including lying, concealment, and exaggeration.
