Taipei 101, formerly known as the Taipei World Financial Center, is a landmark 101-story skyscraper located in the Xinyi District of Taipei, Taiwan. Standing at 508 meters tall, it was officially classified as the world's tallest building from its opening in 2004 until 2009. It remains an iconic symbol of modern Taiwan, famous for its architectural design and its massive wind damper that protects it against earthquakes and typhoons.
