Topic
The cytoplasm is all the material within a eukaryotic or prokaryotic cell, enclosed by the cell membrane, including the organelles and excluding the nucleus in eukaryotic cells. Its main components are the cytosol, a gel-like substance, along with various organelles and cytoplasmic inclusions. It is composed of about 80% water and plays a vital role in maintaining cell shape and hosting metabolic activities.
