Contaminated supplements
Topic
Contaminated supplements refer to dietary or athletic supplements that contain undeclared, harmful, or prohibited substances, such as heavy metals, bacteria, unapproved pharmaceuticals, or banned performance-enhancing drugs. This contamination can occur accidentally during manufacturing and sourcing, or intentionally through adulteration to enhance product efficacy. It poses significant public health risks and frequently leads to failed drug tests for competitive athletes under strict liability rules.
