Clozapine is a prescription psychiatric medication and the first atypical antipsychotic discovered. It is used primarily to treat schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder when other antipsychotics have not worked or were not tolerated, and in the United States is also approved to reduce recurrent suicidal behavior in certain patients.
