Clonazepam is a benzodiazepine medication with anxiolytic, anticonvulsant, sedative, hypnotic, and muscle-relaxant properties. It is used to treat or prevent certain seizure disorders and panic or anxiety disorders, and is generally taken orally; use requires medical supervision because it can cause dependence, sedation, and respiratory depression, especially with other depressants.
