Childhood cancer
Topic
Childhood cancer, also known as pediatric cancer, is cancer that affects children, adolescents, and young adults. It is a relatively rare group of diseases, accounting for approximately 1% of all cancer diagnoses globally, with leukemia, brain tumors, and lymphomas being the most common types. While survival rates have reached about 80% in high-income countries due to modern treatments, the vast majority of affected children live in low- and middle-income countries where access to care remains limited.
