Topic

Cardiomyocytes, also known as cardiac muscle cells, are the highly specialized muscle cells that make up the cardiac muscle (myocardium) of the heart. These involuntary, striated cells are responsible for generating the contractile force required to pump blood throughout the circulatory system. They are structurally connected by intercalated discs, allowing for synchronized electrical and mechanical activity.
