Cambodia, officially the Kingdom of Cambodia, is a country located in the southern portion of the Indochinese Peninsula in Mainland Southeast Asia. It is bordered by Thailand to the northwest, Laos to the north, Vietnam to the east, and the Gulf of Thailand to the southwest. The country is characterized by a low-lying central plain surrounded by uplands and low mountains, and includes the Tonle Sap lake and the upper reaches of the Mekong River delta.
