Generation Z, often shortened to Gen Z and informally known as Zoomers, is the demographic cohort succeeding Millennials and preceding Generation Alpha. Demographers and researchers typically define the generation as individuals born between 1997 and 2012. As the first generation to grow up with widespread access to the internet and portable digital technology from a young age, they are often characterized as digital natives.
