Back control (often associated with the back mount or rear mount) is a highly dominant grappling position in martial arts and combat sports where a practitioner controls their opponent from behind. It is widely considered one of the most advantageous positions in grappling, allowing the attacker to secure submissions like the rear-naked choke while remaining safe from most counter-attacks.
