Austria, formally the Republic of Austria, is a landlocked country in Central Europe situated largely in the Eastern Alps. It is a federation of nine states, bordered by Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Italy, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein; its capital and most populous city is Vienna.
