Athena is an ancient Greek goddess associated with wisdom, handicraft, and warfare. In Homer's Odyssey, she plays a key role by pleading with her father, Zeus, to allow the mortal king Odysseus to return home and by guiding his son Telemachus on his coming-of-age journey.
