Army psychiatry is the U.S. Army’s military mental-health specialty and service area, providing psychiatric assessment, treatment, prevention, and operational behavioral-health support for Soldiers and eligible beneficiaries. It operates within the Army Medical Department and supports readiness through clinical care, combat and operational behavioral health, consultation, and behavioral-health education.
