Acceleration Fatigue
Topic
Acceleration fatigue refers to the physiological exhaustion, muscle strain, and cognitive decline experienced by pilots, astronauts, and high-performance drivers subjected to sustained high G-forces. This condition is caused by the intense physical effort required to maintain blood flow to the brain and prevent G-induced loss of consciousness (G-LOC) during rapid acceleration. Over time, the cumulative stress of resisting these gravitational forces significantly degrades situational awareness and physical endurance.
