Biological sex
Topic
Biological sex is the phenotypic trait of a sexually reproducing organism determined by the type of gametes it produces. Organisms that produce smaller, motile gametes (spermatozoa) are classified as male, while those that produce larger, non-motile gametes (ova) are classified as female. During sexual reproduction, these gametes fuse to form a zygote, which inherits genetic traits from both parents.
