The Pirahã are an Indigenous hunter-gatherer people of the Amazon rainforest in Brazil, living primarily along the banks of the Maici River in the state of Amazonas. They are the sole surviving subgroup of the Mura people and are well known for their unique culture and language, which lacks numbers, color terms, and recursive grammar. As of 2024, their population is estimated to be around 900 individuals.
