Typesafe was a software company founded in 2011 by Martin Odersky, Jonas Bonér, and Paul Phillips. It developed and supported technologies in the Scala ecosystem, including the Akka middleware and Play Framework, and rebranded as Lightbend in 2016; it now operates under the Akka brand.
